The Shire of Blacklake's Annual Defender Event
Site Fee: Adults : $7 Children (5-16) : $5 Family cap : $25
$3 Non-member surcharge
Site opens at 5 PM on Friday and closes at Noon Sunday. Make Checks Payable to: SCA, Inc / Shire of Blacklake. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21-year or older adult with a signed and notarized minor event waiver form from the parents. Site is wet and above ground fire allowed in designated space. Pets allowed on leash with proof of current vaccines.
Direction to Site: Hogan Park is located on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Lamesa and Wadley in Midland, Texas.
From Dallas / Abilene: On I-20, take the Business 20 exit. Turn right at Loop 250 North (be aware that this looks like a normal street and is easy to miss). Exit Lamesa Rd. Follow the SCA signs. (Should you miss the Loop 250 turn-off, you will come to Lamesa Rd. Turn right on Lamesa and you can follow it through town to the park on the north side.)
From Odessa / El Paso: On I-20, take the Loop 250 North Exit. Stay on the loop and exit Lamesa Rd. Turn right on Lamesa and follow the SCA signs.
From Lubbock / Amarillo: Come into Midland on SH 349. Turn left at Loop 250 (Loop 250 East). Turn right on the next major street, which is Lamesa Rd. Follow the SCA signs.
Feast
Feast will consist of breads, honey, fruits and vegetables and various desserts. The main course shall be pork or other wild game, if indeed the hunting party is successful. (What hunting season is it?)

We are having a Food Drive Feast. You can get a $1.00 discount on the cost of your feast by bringing 3 canned goods for donation. Any additional donations are greatly appreciated.

Honorable Lady Augustine Minerva de Orleans will hold an Or Nue class. Items you will need: a set of 7x7 stretcher frames, needles and scissors, 18 count canvass to cover frame, 1 skein of # 16 gold Balger thread, and 2 Au ver a soie (Pure Silk). Fish pattern adapted form the Chinese for needlepoint, Author Maggie Lane. Complete Kit of items needed, except for scissors, will be for sale at event.
Merchants are welcome!! There is no merchant fee and for those not wishing to cook, we have a confirmed tavern to serve meals all 3 days, except Saturday during feast.
